The price of gold decreased 4 times in a row in the country’s market. It has decreased by 23 thousand 573 taka in 4 consecutive times. The Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) last reduced the price of gold on Tuesday (October 27) night. This time, the organization has reduced the price by 10 thousand 474 taka per gram.
The new price will be effective from Wednesday (October 29). Bajus made this information known in a statement on Tuesday (October 28) night.
It says that the price of pure gold in the local market has decreased. As a result, the new price of gold has been determined considering the overall situation.
According to the new price, the price of 22-carat gold per bhori (11.664 grams) in the domestic market will be 1 lakh 93 thousand 809 taka.
Apart from this, the price of gold has been fixed at 1 lakh 85 thousand 3 taka per bhori for 21 carats, 1 lakh 58 thousand 572 taka per bhori for 18 carats and 1 lakh 31 thousand 628 taka per bhori for traditional method.
According to Bajus, the government-set 5 percent VAT and Bajus-set minimum wage of 6 percent must be added to the selling price of gold. However, wages may vary depending on the design and quality of the jewelry.
Earlier, on Monday (October 27), BAJUS adjusted the price of gold in the country’s market. On that day, the organization reduced the price of a 22-carat gold bhori by Tk 3,674, setting the price at Tk 2,04,283.
Apart from this, the price of gold per 21-carat bori was fixed at 1 lakh 94 thousand 999 taka, per 18-carat bori at 1 lakh 67 thousand 145 taka and per 1 lakh 38 thousand 942 taka according to the traditional method. This came into effect from October 28.
Meanwhile, despite the reduction in gold prices, the price of silver remains unchanged in the domestic market. A 22-carat bhori of silver is being sold for 4,246 taka in the country.
Apart from this, 21 carat silver is being sold at 4,047 taka per bhori, 18 carat silver at 3,476 taka per bhori, and traditional silver is being sold at 2,601 taka per bhori.
